Day 26 — Your week, in great detail
Monday
Having got back from a festival the day before, I was still recovering from the journey back. I’d had a good sleep so I wasn’t too bad. I spent most of the day uploading photos, commenting on them and relaxing really. At 4pm I went to my old Boy’s Brigade Church Hall to help them set up their Awards Evening, then went to the pub for dinner with my old BB mates. We then went to the awards evening itself which was nice, then back to the pub.
Tuesday
Tuesday another lazy day, wishing I had more money to see the new films that are on and looking into others jobs I could do. I also did a few graphics requests for some people just to keep myself busy! I was missing my girlfriend Rach a lot, who was on holiday in Cornwall. I put my drum silencer pads for sale on ebay as well.
Wednesday
I went into the job agency I worked with last year to see if I could finally get a job. They still had me on record which is always a good sign! I wrote my name down for availability for a Data Inputting at a warehouse in Riddings. It’d mean getting the bus at 7:20 to be there on time but a job’s a job!
Thursday
It absolutely chucked it down on Thursday, with lots of thunder as well! Michelle (my sister) and Martyn (her boyfriend) were both off work and invited me out to lunch with them. We went to the Rushley, one of Mansfield’s nicer pubs and I had a Chicken Caeser Wrap. I didn’t realise however, that I’d be the only one eating that night. I made myself some Spaghetti Bolognaise, the first time I’d properly cooked since being at uni! It was nice enough. I then went down to the post box to post off a game I was selling and clocked 16mph on the road speed check thing!
Friday
Friday consisted of getting ready for the weekend really. Me and my family were going up to Preston on the Saturday for my cousin’s wedding, so I needed to make sure I had my clothes all sorted. I went down to Sainsburys with my dad to get some essentials, then got back and had some lunch with the family since we were all in. Me and mum then went down to Debenhams to get me a shirt and tie for the wedding. Packed it all ready for Saturday.
Saturday
Now this is a big one.
Got up about 7am to get ready in time to leave at quarter past 8 for Preston. We got the cat into his carrier and set off, dropping him off at a cattery in Ladybrook. Our next stop was at Keele service station to pick up my brother Ian. He was supervising an expedition in Snowdon, but was making a detour to the wedding, then we were to drop him off after. We had some coffee at Starbucks, which was terribly overprice, and waited for him to turn up.
He eventually arrived and we set off for the small village of Little Singleton. It was a nice drive up and the area was lovely. We arrived at the hall and said hello to the various relatives we hadn’t seen in a while and Kate, James and Emily (My sister, her husband and daughter, respectively) and Michelle and Martyn turned up soon after.
We were lead into the main hall area where the seats were laid out in a church style and the service began. The service was beautiful, with some readings and a nice choice of music for the ceremony, it all went off without a hitch and we were clapping them off before we knew it!
Next was the canapes outside, while we were taking photos, we were served with some gorgeous canapes which were miniature versions of British favourites, fish and chips and cheese burgers! It began to rain, so we went inside and waited for the reception dinner to be ready.
The dinner was gorgeous, we had lamb on the bone and pate to start, finishing with something I can’t remember to finish, but it was lovely! We had a lounge singer while we ate who was very funny and the speeches proceeded. There was a sweepstake on the length of time the whole speeches would last, but we didn’t win!
Next, we went to mingle while the staff set up for the evening due. This was very fun and and enjoyable with the lounge singer DJing the music. The first and last song was My Endless Love which seemed apt! After much dancing and drinking, we got taxis back to the hotel and fell asleep almost instantly!
Sunday
Day 25 — Your day, in great detail
I awoke in my Premier Inn bed, still a little tired from the night before. I was up in a village near Preston to attend my cousin’s wedding, which was excellent, but now it was almost time to leave.
I got changed into my wedding clothes (because my mum had dropped off the wrong bag in my room) and knocked on my parent’s hotel room to get my dad’s key so I could get my bag which had my clothes in. I proceeded downstairs and got my stuff out the car. My brother went down to breakfast as the hotel’s very own pub next door as I got changed.
I went down and found my brother, mum and dad all sat at a table, eating their breakfast. I went to get my own cereal and joined them. I then went for another helping, this time of cooked breakfast which was a perfect meal to start the day.
We headed off saying our goodbyes and gave my sister Kate a lift to the Hall where the wedding had taken place so she could pick up her car. We then said goodbye to her and headed down towards Wales.
My brother had come up with a Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition team and we’d picked him up at a service station on the way up for the wedding. Now we were dropping him off in Wales to join the expedition and help look after them. It was a nice trip down there and the scenery was gorgeous. We stopped in a small town called Betws-y-Coed, which was absolutely packed, to drop Ian off and it was gorgeous.
We waited at the road side with him until his lift came and we said goodbye and good luck to him. We were going to stop for some lunch here but decided it was far to busy, and instead went to a diner on the way back into England. It was a nice little place, mum and dad had a carvery and I had a lasagne. We left the diner and headed back into England.
The previous day was my niece Emily’s 6th birthday and she was having a party with her friends which we were invited to. So we drove across the Pennines to my sister Kate’s house who we dropped off early, and got taken through a lot of country lanes by the sat nav before reaching her house.
The party was full of little terrors, all having a lot of fun on the trampoline and later the bouncy castle. It was relaxing sitting outside with everyone and Emily had a lovely time by the looks of it!
Michelle, my other sister, took me back a little earlier so I could go to my friend’s house for a BBQ as it was his birthday. We got back in good time and dropped my stuff off, picking up more overnight clothing. Martyn, my sister’s boyfriend needed to go Tesco, so we nipped to the Express and dropped him off at his in Kirkby.
We finally arrived at Jon’s house in Selston and I thanked Michelle for the lift. I went into the house and had a very relaxing night watching TV with my mates and having a bit of a catch-up. We all went to sleep at around 11pm since we were all knackered. They’d been paintballing earlier that day.
Quite an eventful day really!
Day 24 — Anything That Tickles Your Fancy
Going to a wedding today! My cousin (3rd cousin, if we’re being pedantic) is getting hitched up in a village called Little Singleton, sounds very quaint! Should be a good weekend with a lot of my family going up, really looking forward to it.
Here’s me at another wedding, with my brother and sister. You know, just to get a picture of what I might look like today :P:

Peace! x
Day 22 — A website
Love Olly Moss’ work, he does an illustration for an upcoming film every month for Empire Magazine. His ideas are awesome, I love how he uses negative space in his work as much as positive. Really inspiring
